Tarragon / Artemisia dracunculus

Tarragon is a perennial plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. Tarragon is one of the fresh herbs used to produce the famous herb blend ‘Herbes de Provence’. Tarragon is mostly used to season chicken and fish dishes as well as egg dishes.
Tarragon contains the Estragole compound, which renders the herb a flavor reminiscent of anise. Tarragon is also used for the production of seasoned vinegar.
Tarragon rich in Potassium, is used as a salt substitute, facilitates digestion and sooth stomachaches. Chewing Tarragon stems is used as a natural dental anesthetic for adults. Tarragon enhances alertness and is recommended for patients suffering from lack of appetite.
